Migration
- Not many people have migrated from other countries into Tokyo. Most of Tokyo's population comes its many births per year, and from people moving from the less metropolitan prefectures surrounding Tokyo Prefecture. There are also many FIFO commuters who come to work in Tokyo's sprawling metropolis.
-
Languages
- Tokyo is not a very multi-language area. Instead, most of its citizens speak Japanese, and learn English as their second language. If you only spoke English and needed to get around Tokyo, it would be much easier than in another non-english speaking country.
-
Religion
- The Japanese culture, while heavily modernized, still takes many aspects of its previous ages including the Buddhist religion. Many temples and statues have been preserved or built around Tokyo, as a means of retaining Japan's old culture.
